RTITB Annual Workforce Survey – Here’s What Our Team Had to Say!

Blogs | 18th Jun 2024

At RTITB, we understand that to give you the best service, we also need to be a great place to work, with a great team. That is why we conduct an annual employee engagement survey to see what we’re doing well, and where we can improve.

We are committed to being transparent, so we’re sharing the results of our latest employees and contractors survey in this blog.

We’re proud of our work culture

One of our biggest takeaways from the survey was that the majority of our team members are happy working at RTITB and see themselves working here in a year’s time (70%).

Positive comments included one that simply said: “I am happy going to work”, while another responded with: “I believe that RTITB has strong values and positive leadership”.

We believe that communication is important at work. It helps our team to feel satisfied at work, and to reach their full potential. In our survey, we asked if our team had a clear understanding of their role and responsibilities. We were delighted to hear that 88% agreed that they did.

Also, we asked if our team is aware of individual objectives and overall company goals. In both cases, the majority of survey respondents strongly agreed that they did. It was great to hear that many of the team feel motivated by their line manager and said they receive recognition for their efforts and achievements. However, we acknowledge that this is an area we know we can improve. We also know we need to improve on earlier training around updates and training. This is something we hope to implement and can see will also improve our customers’ experience.

Open-minded approach

There was broad agreement in those surveyed that RTITB cares about health and wellbeing. We were pleased to hear that many of our team feel we advocate a work culture which strikes the right balance between work and home life. Though we also appreciate this is an area where we can do better. However, we were happy to see the majority of our team feel the trust that is so important to us – 59% said they feel they can be trusted to do their job.

However, feedback indicated that we could do more to listen to staff opinion and ideas. And to make our team feel like they can challenge the way things are done. We will focus on making improvements here.

On the other hand, a large proportion of our team agree that senior leadership is appropriately accessible. And, also, that we will use these survey results to effect positive change.

Desire to exceed expectations

We pride ourselves on being a fair employer. We were happy to hear that the majority of our team was satisfied with their pay and rewards for work well done. The majority of those responding agreed that RTITB processes enable them to perform their job effectively. What’s more, most strongly agreed that work-related pressure was manageable.

It was encouraging to see feedback that said “it’s nice to see that colleagues are getting recognised for the work they do, especially when they go above and beyond”.

And, also, that we are an “Excellent company to work for with the staff at the epicentre. The company invests heavily in COD, welfare and every person has a voice.”

Our focus is YOU!

RTITB exists for its partners, members, and customers. Our survey backed up that our team is on the same page. More than seven out of ten of those surveyed strongly agreed that we work hard to exceed customer expectations (71%). Our team by majority also strongly agreed that RTITB responds well to the changing needs of customers.

Outside of this survey, we will continue to welcome constructive feedback from our team. We know that this helps us adapt and improve to keep both our staff and customers happy.

Room for change

We appreciate there are always things that we can improve upon for our team and our customers. And we are committed to being a workplace that promotes inclusivity, transparency, and career development. We are taking on board all comments and suggestions from the survey and there will certainly be some changes in the future. We know this will help our employees and contractors. And above all, will help you too.
