The RTITB name comes with credibility, so when we needed EPAs for Supply Chain Warehouse Operatives (ST0259) Level 2, RTITB was our first choice, and the only supplier we even considered. We have worked with RTITB for a long time for training, so we knew that their high standards aligned with ours and that we like their way of working.
With RTITB EPAs, we can trust that our apprentices will be the best they can be – partly because we have provided them with an assessor who is at the top of industry standards.
As a business we have always invested in our people. Learning is in our culture and ingrained in our business and maintaining our reputation for quality and our high standards is essential, which is why we work with RTITB.

What The Port of Tilbury Has Achieved with RTITB End Point Assessments:
- RTITB has delivered EPAs for 7 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative (ST0259) Level 2 apprentices for the Port of Tilbury, with 10 more planned for the next year.
- These apprentices are now qualified to carry out their role, and are a vital part of operations within the port, and ready to help support the expansion of operations with the opening of Tilbury2 in 2020.
- Working together with RTITB, the Port of Tilbury can offer EPAs that are in line with their own high training standards and ensure that apprentices receive the best quality apprenticeships.
- As RTITB are experts in workplace transport training accreditation, the Port of Tilbury is assured that their EPA provider understands the specific challenges of a port business, as well as the role the apprentices are training to do.
- The Port of Tilbury has complete confidence that RTITB’s assessors not only understand how EPAs work in practice but also back this up with in-depth knowledge of industry assessments gained from working with many different businesses.
- It has been possible to deliver all EPAs on site at the Port of Tilbury, with RTITB using The Logistics Training Academy facility to complete the theory test component, and then conducting the practical assessment in the real port environment.
- The practical part of the EPA has been conducted in a real work environment using equipment that apprentices are familiar with, such as using tugs in the roro or container terminal at the Port of Tilbury.
- The potential impact of taking apprentices off duty in order to complete their assessments is minimised as RTITB EPAs are conducted professionally and efficiently. This makes it easier for Port of Tilbury to get buy in for EPAs from management.
- Wherever help from RTITB has been needed, the Port of Tilbury has been able to get the support required from a training coordinator.
- The Port of Tilbury can easily integrate the RTITB End Point Assessments within their group wide external and internal development and training programme (as part of Forth Ports).
Benefits of RTITB End Point Assessments:
