RTITB is proud to operate the National Register of LGV Instructors (NRI), the only DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) endorsed instructor and assessor register ran by the industry, for the industry.
The national register exists to improve and monitor LGV instructor and assessor standards, ensuring a high standard of training in road transport.
RTITB operates the NRI on a not-for-profit basis for the benefit of the transport industry. It’s governance committee includes the DVSA, Logistics UK (formerly Freight Transport Association (FTA)) and the Road Haulage Association (RHA), all of whom oversee the delivery and development of the register and the associated examinations.
The NRI opened in January 2017 and is the successor to the DVSA voluntary LGV Instructor register which closed on 31st December 2016.
The NRI has an independent database and regular audits by the governance committee to ensure quality, standards and neutrality.
The RTITB Instructor Academy is an approved NRI examination centre and runs courses to prepare candidates for the NRI examination.
