RTITB-Training-Awards-All-Winners-&-Finalists

2024 was another busy and successful year at RTITB. As 2025 dawns, we are reflecting on some of our 2024 highlights. Together with our dedicated partners, members, trainers, and team we’ve achieved some fantastic safety milestones. Here’s a look at the key accomplishments and contributions that shaped 2024.

At the heart of it all is the RTITB Safety Chain – RTITB’s proven approach that delivers measurable operational and safety improvements through content, confidence, compliance, and consistency.

Content: Delivering Valuable Training Solutions

We provide credible, high-quality training materials designed to inspire cultural change and positively influence behaviours through engaging delivery methods. This year, a key focus has been on updating and introducing new content and training solutions to further support these goals. Highlights include…

  • MHE Incident Investigation eLearning: Identifying the root cause of an incident and understanding human factors is key to preventing future incidents. Therefore, knowing how and why to investigate an incident is vital for improving day-to-day safety. Our new MHE Incident Investigation eLearning course was introduced to support this. Helping companies to reduce the risk of incidents and maintain compliance. Learn more.
  • Hydraulic Lorry Loader CPC Course: RTITB Accredited Partners and Driver CPC Members were able to add the Hydraulic Lorry Loader course to their Driver CPC Membership which gives operators the skills to operate Hydraulic Lorry Loaders (HIAB’s) safely and efficiently.
  • More Inclusive Testing for Counterbalance and Reach Truck Operators: In line with updates introduced by Accrediting Bodies Association for Workplace Transport (ABA), we updated our Counterbalance (LTG1) and Reach Truck (LTG2) training materials. The Associated Knowledge test standard for Counterbalance Lift Truck and Reach Truck operators changed. It is now more inclusive and better assesses operator competence. The changes include the removal of the five ‘open’ questions and addition of five multiple selection questions in the Associated Knowledge Papers. The new format better supports the needs of neurodiverse learners and aligns with educational standards. It also helps to overcome language barriers.
  • Updates to our Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) Instructor course and examination: We modernised the course, to give Instructors the skills and knowledge they need to meet modern learning preferences. The course can be tailored with reasonable adjustments, to meet candidates’ differing needs. For example, those who are neurodiverse. It includes a focus on different delivery methods, including face to face, blended, and digital styles. The new examination process is designed to lessen the pressure. This helps to prevent nerves impacting on the candidates’ success. Discover more about the revamped MHE Instructor Course.

Confidence: Inspiring Trainers Through Knowledge and Communication

We foster confidence by empowering individuals with the tools, techniques, and support needed to excel in training delivery. Through community knowledge sharing, coaching, and a focus on courageous communication, we help trainers deliver impactful training with clarity and self-assurance.

  • 100,000+ Drivers, Operators, and Instructors in the RTITB Community

Our main goal at RTITB is keeping people safe. So, we’re thrilled that almost 120,000 qualified lift truck operators, HGV/LGV drivers, and Instructors were part of our community this year. And that we are all working towards the common goal of heightened safety and efficiency. In 2024…

These numbers aren’t just good news for RTITB. They demonstrate a commitment to safety across the transport and logistics industry.

We’d also like to acknowledge all our new RTITB Accredited Partners, Driver CPC Consortium members, and Registered Instructors for their dedication to maintaining high standards. And supporting candidates to gain both competence and confidence.

We are honoured to have been shortlisted in two categories for the West Midlands Business of the Year. International Trade and Medium Business. Compliance: Digital Solutions for Safer, Smarter Operations

To help operations work more accurately and efficiently, in 2024 we….

  • Established a new WhatsApp Community for Accredited Partners and Driver CPC Consortium Members to help keep our community up to date on important developments such as legislative changes, safety notices and changes to membership criteria, for example.
  • Launched the RTITB Training Mate App (for Driver CPC Consortium Members) – a new way to administer Driver CPC training and manage Periodic Training records. The RTITB Training Mate App helps RTITB Driver CPC Consortium Members eliminate printed paperwork and enable driver upload with a single button click. Saving busy trainers money and time.
  • Updated the RTITB TrainingFriend App to support the roll out of the MHE Instructor course. This update allows MHE Instructor training to go paperless and be managed completely online. We are continually making updates to the App, helping to facilitate paperless training administration and assessment – helping to save time, cut costs and go green.

Consistency: Driving Long-Term Cultural Change and Strategic Impact

We build consistency by creating and sustaining momentum in training and development efforts. With a focus on long-term culture change, our approach aligns with organisational strategy to deliver continuous value, ensuring sustained growth and impactful contributions across all levels.

Safety and saving lives are at the heart of everything RTITB does. We set the standard for workplace transport operator and driver training.  And we are keen to expand these high RTITB standards internationally.

In 2024, we were excited to introduce RTITB training standards, products and services to the Middle East and India.

  • RTITB Middle East has been established as a wholly owned subsidiary of RTITB Limited. It opened its new permanent headquarters, based in Muscat, Oman this year. The new office supports training institutes, vocational colleges, and companies across the Middle East.
  • RTITB India is a new RTITB Accredited training partner. It will deliver a range of courses to help bring high standards to workplace transport training across the region.
